Our Years in Monet’s Giverny

a memoir of art, passion and life in France

A new book by author and opera singer Cello Bennett, Light, Art and Love explores her improbable yet joyous marriage to artist Gale Bennett. Set in Giverny, France, the romantic village where artist Claude Monet spent the last 40 years of his life, Cello Bennett details the frisson and passion inspired by their diametrically opposite personalities, and the unity, art and contentment found in their years together in la belle France.

“I was immediately caught up in the image of artists traveling from all over the world to paint in Monet's Gardens brought to me in this beautiful book…Cello Bennett's practical yet delicate way of describing Giverny makes me feel as if I had actually been to the village, and inspires me to go there one day.”
